The charge to come out was $175. That seemed excessive but the office manager said the price would come off the cost of the repair. I scheduled the appointment. Chris came out and after looking at the roof asked if I was aware that there was a $1,500 minimum charge. I told him I was not given that information by the office. The cost of this repair would be a few hundred dollars. He said he would speak with the office about the situation and the fee. I received an email a day later for a $175 inspection fee. I called the office and spoke with the same individual that scheduled my appointment. They admitted to the mistake of not disclosing the minimum charge up front and said they would look into the fee charge. About 7 minutes later she called back and said the fee was waived but said she needed a 5 star review in return which would help her get a bonus. I stated I was not comfortable doing that given it wasn’t a 5 star experience. She then said she was only joking. If she was, the joke didn’t land well and was awkward at best. Given the lack of the minimum charge disclosure up front and so-called “joke” at the end, the experience was less than satisfying.
